When he highly suggests that she should face her inner demons, the couple runs off to a cabin located in a secluded area, deep in the woods.
Because the husband (who is also played out as a psychiatric) doesn’t like the doctors methods of treating his wife, he decides he should treat her as a patient of his own. The demise of their son leaves the mother/wife in extreme distraught and lost in her own grief. So Antichrist is a 2009 psychological, art house horror movie that tells a bitterly depressing tale about a married couple’s young, infant son falls out of his bedroom window and dies instantly while they have explicit sex without even knowing what had happened. Don’t worry, I won’t go into full details this will be a spoiler free review, and I might actually decide to analyze this movie some day. This is quite a controversial take on the art house horror genre a lot of people supposedly walked of the screening for the film due to two scenes in particular. From what I’ve witnessed and picked up in the movie Antichrist, this guy seems to work with very deep and meaningful plot metaphors, along with some taboo subject matter.
Now, I’ve never seen any other work done by him until now, and just by watching this movie, it seems like he comes off to be more of an artistic, experimental filmmaker, then your average director working in Hollywood. Hey everyone, today I am gonna be reviewing a Lars Von Trier movie, and this one is called Antichrist.
